ECE Educators goes to Maranatha Christian Academy: March 29, 2019

Last Friday (March 29, 2019) we had an activity where located in Maranatha Christian Academy. Ms. Sitoy gave us the opportunity to showcase our activities that we’d learned and to share it to the pupils, at that moment were so very nervous because we never experience this kind of activities to another school. There’s a technical error at first but still, the event still going on because we had a plan b. And then we started the event with a prayer and then the event starts with its flow, first activity was storytelling and then the children participated but suddenly they got bored because we all know that the interest of every child is just 3-5 mins and we got pressure on how we deliver all the activities lively, in order to the children to loosen their boredom the next activity we had was the shoe lacing. Shoe lacing is one of the best activity that will help the children develop they’re fine motor skills. Next activity was the “Making the balloon inflated with the used of baking soda and the vinegar” which helps the children develop their thinking skills why the balloon got inflated with the used of baking soda and vinegar. And the last but not the list, the “Making of muchkin” this activity was very exciting because the children participated well and enjoyed it a lot. And as a facilitator also, it helps me to be more knowledgeable in dealing with young children because we all know that dealing with young children is a very difficult task if you as a teacher cant handle your children very well. And being one of the staff, I’m so happy and blessed because through the children I have learned a lot.

Field Study: Day 7

On the 7th day of observation, as we entered the classroom Ms. Maita told her pupils that their graduation ceremony is fast approaching and they should memorize their prayer. And after that, Ms. Maita gave different activities each row. In 1st row Ms. Maita gave a coloring material, 2nd-row they’re doing an assembling, 3rd is sorting and 4th is doing puzzles.

Field Study: Day 5

On this day, the teacher gave circle time then after that she let her pupils get a one piece of paper then write their names on it and go to their respective places because she will give words and let the pupils spell it. This routine, helps the pupils develop their developmental skills, like cognitive skills and their fine motor skills. Then after that, she gets all the papers and starts her lesson which all about the animals that are pets in the house or not.

On this day, they’re having circle time just like the other day. The teacher let her pupils dance and sing so that before the lesson starts the pupils will participate and then again she let her pupils get one piece of paper for the spelling, she always does it everything so that the pupils will get familiarize the words that she discussed and also helps the pupils develop holistically. And the teacher starts her lesson all about classifying animals that have furs, wings, scales and antenna.

Third Day:

On this day, the teacher gave an activity that talks about where the animal lives. In the “Yuta or Land” “Hangin or Air” “Ocean or Tubig”. The teacher gave this activity so that the pupils will have enough knowledge were that animals lived, she gave a cartolinas and the pupils will provide pictures of animals and let them paste it in the cartolina and present it to the front of the class.

On our 2nd day of observation, the teacher does a circle time so that the children will participate in her class. She let her pupils dance and sing. Then after their circle time, the teacher let the pupils settle down and said get one piece of paper then write their name on it because she will give words and let the pupils spell it out.
